Do I need a referral to make an appointment?

No, a referral is not required to make an appointment with our clinic. However, if you are being referred from another doctor, information from your previous visits may be useful. We can discuss the option of a formal request for your confidential information during your first visit with us.

Will I be charged if I miss an appointment?

Our office's cancellation policy requires 48 business hours of prior notice to cancel/reschedule any patient appointments. If an appointment is missed without appropriate notification, you will be charged the full cost of the appointment. Many insurance companies do not cover the cost of missed appointments, so this may lead to an out-of-pocket cost. While we strive to remind patients of their appointments as a courtesy, it is the responsibility of each patient to arrive for their scheduled appointment.

Although we make every effort to correctly verify each patient's coverage, we encourage you to call your insurance company to ensure that no errors or misunderstandings occur. Payment for all non-covered services must be delivered when they are rendered, typically at the time of the appointment. We are happy to provide detailed receipts for those not covered by insurance, which may be partially reimbursed if our office falls within your plan's "out of network" benefits. Our office accepts cash payments and all major credit cards as forms of payment.

Will I still be seen if I'm late?

To ensure that the maximum number of individuals are served each day, each appointment may follow the previous one by as little as 15 minutes. A delay in starting an appointment may disrupt the entire day's schedule, so patients may be asked to reschedule if they arrive after their scheduled appointment time. Please contact our office if you discover that you may arrive late, and we will be happy to assess whether a delay can be worked into the office's schedule.

How do I refill a prescription?

If you are in need of a refill for a non-stimulant medication, your local pharmacy will be able to verify if you have any further refills on file. If a refill is required, our office will need to authorize one via a form faxed from the pharmacy. Our doctors typically prescribe enough medication to last until your next appointment, so a supplemental refill may indicate that an appointment is overdue.

For stimulant medications, such as Adderall, Focalin, Ritalin, etc., special regulations dictate that prescriptions must be given to the pharmacist in person. These prescriptions must be filled 21 days from the date written before expiring and requiring a replacement.
